The Moodle & STACK Connect Center thus forms a key building block for the widespread adoption of advanced digital tasks – and for a teaching practice that emphasizes individualized support, formative assessment, and accessibility.
A goal of the German Center for Digital Tasks (DZdA) is to provide educators at all universities with access to next-generation digital tasks, regardless of their local technical infrastructure. This is exactly where the Moodle & STACK Connect Center comes in: it builds the technical bridge that enables the integration of high-quality digital tasks with individualized feedback, graphical interactions, and formula input into any learning management system via standardized interfaces (LTI).
This particularly benefits universities that do not operate their own Moodle or STACK installation. Through the Connect infrastructure, lecturers will be able to integrate tasks from the central DZdA repository directly into their courses – whether in ILIAS, Stud.IP, OPAL, or Canvas. For students, this means uniform access to modern practice and assessment scenarios across institutions.
The center is being established at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Anne von Raven, the team is working to remove technical barriers and provide support structures for both teaching staff and IT personnel. Training materials and guidelines are also planned in cooperation with the Training Center to ensure that digital tasks can be integrated quickly and easily.
